Fiona Strickland studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art, to become an award-winning member of The Society of Botanical Artists, an R.H.S. Gold Medallist and a member of The American Society of Botanical Artists.
Since her first submission to The Society of Botanical Artists’ Annual Exhibition in 2008, she has been awarded full membership of The Society, The People’s Choice Award, the runner-up St Cuthbert’s Mill Award, Certificates of Botanical Merit, The Margaret Granger Memorial Bowl, The Great Art Award, and an R.H.S. Dawn Jolliffe Botanical Art Bursary.
With work in the collections of Dr. Shirley Sherwood, the R.H.S. Lindley Library and The Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, as well as in numerous private collections in Europe, the U.S.A. and Australia, her extraordinarily detailed and intensely coloured paintings make an impressive contribution to contemporary botanical art, and are much sought after by specialist collectors.
