Lida Hatrick

From her native Bohemia, Lida Hatrick came to Berwickshire in 1969 with her Scottish doctor husband, to paint, sculpt and teach.
Retiring early from teaching, she studied at Leith School of Art, and has won acclaim as a painter, inspired by the Lammermuir Hills and the Merse, working intuitively and energetically to produce vivid images of the dykes and paths, burning heather and weather-beaten trees of her adopted home.
Her distinctive paintings have been shown in Scotland and in London, and are represented in a great number of private collections.
